BACKWOODS EXPERIMENT
Backwoods Experiment is a bluegrass band born and raised in the backwoods of central Pennsylvania, with a sound reflecting their love for all things natural and real. They come from different walks of life but form a quartet of friendship and musical experimentation.
THE BIG DIRTY
The Big Dirty is a unique musical group, incorporating countless genres and styles into their sound. Within this band's broad vision, the focus is on funk, jazz, groove, soul, and blues music. Performances are eclectic and likely to include percussion ensembles, intense explorations on improvisation, various instruments and guest musicians, and a number of ethnic and traditional elements.
CODENAME
Compositionally, Codename's songs are a fusion of tightly composed prog-rock arrangements, high-energy rock n' roll, jazzy, sophisticated harmonies, and funked out dance grooves. When Codename jams, they truly explore the unknown, swiming through key signatures, searching for new patterns, tapping into that tight pocket they create when their eyes are closed and the whole audience is zoned in with them.
THE DAILY SUPPLEMENT
The Daily Supplement is a fusion quartet focused on livening up the late night jam scene with original Caribbean dance rhythms, rich jazz harmonies, and high-energy improvisations. Drawing on classical and popular styles of the twentieth century, The Daily Supplement provides a new vision for improvised dance music that includes the importance of original song combined with latin grooves, swing waltzes, reggae one-drops, and odd-meter rhythms.
DAKINI
Dakini is a four-piece original band that creates a flowing musical experience that is truly unlike anything else. With influences from all genres of music, Dakini is pure rock 'n' roll with a driving energy that can satisfy any and all who come to experience a show.
ELECTRIC FERN
Electric Fern is a three-piece, original rock-based band with flavors of funk and certain aspects of improvisation, with the strongest focus on songwriting. The resulting music is truly unique. The music is about friendship, family, love, war, happiness, depression, spirituality, nature, humor and anything else that affects life and its people.
JAZZAM
Following the vein of classic funk & soul while adding today's modern influences of jazz and rock, Jazzam's compositions appeal to a wide variety of audiences. While maintaining a refined and subtle approach, they still continue to draw on the raw energy and power that separates the mundane from the marvelous. Providing a deep pool of danceable funk that overflows out from the stage, audience members can choose to immerse themselves in the hypnotic groove, or focus on the complexity of the melodic harmonies.
THE LUMBER TRUCK
The Lumber Truck is a three piece band (guitar, bass, drums) with musical stylings ranging from blues, rock, funk, bluegrass, reggae and a host of other genres they combine to make a sound that is uniquely "Lumber Truck".
LUMPY GRAVY
Lumpy Gravy's Owen MacDonald (guitar, vocals) and Doug McMinn (saxophone, guitar, vocals) are joined by Aaron Sauers on drums and Jimmy Lovcik on bass. Sauers' jazzy, eccentric style and Lovcik's solid but imaginative bass work keep the famous Gravy groove going at peak efficiency.
THE MAN
The Man is a high-energy funk-rock quintet hailing from State College, PA that draws from vastly different influences ranging from The Meters, to Led Zeppelin, to Maceo Parker, to Jeff Beck. Catchy horn melodies are layered onto a tight, funky rhythm section, topped off by a lead guitarist who has drawn comparisons to the great lead players of the late 1960's. The band manages to capture the energy from the funk and rock sides of the spectrum, while melting the styles together to form a sound that is all their own.
NATURAL BREAKDOWN
Natural Breakdown is a band on a mission. Combining a wide variety of styles and elements, Natural Breakdown blends rhythms and melodies ranging from Indian classical music, Latin jazz, bluegrass, folk, fusion, psychedelia, straight up rock and get down funk.
THE (DYNAMIC) STEW
The Stew is an original funk and improvisational band. They perform their music with vigorous ambition, surging their high-energy funk into the audience from start to finish. This innovative sound is a result of the band’s unique song writing and the many influences they incorporate into their music. Each member adds his own creative styles of funk, fusion, jazz, and skillful arrangements to produce the tightly woven groove that is heard on stage.
SYMPHONIC HAZE
Symphonic Haze's sound is akin to a classic rock rhythm section at the helm of a singer/songwriter with overtones of piano and violin to create a dynamic sound that can either be jammy and folky or a full-blown progressive rock epic. Either way it is always honest and much more than the sum of its parts.
UNCLE OTTER
Uncle Otter is the high energy funk and fusion of Herbie Hancock with the three-piece musical attitude and energy of Led Zeppelin. They will be performing with Jimmy Dunstan on keyboards for Some Kind of Jam 2.

~ TWEENER ACTS ~

WILL BOWERS
Since the day he first picked up the guitar, creating music has been a magical and moving experience for Will. He discovered a life-long passion to play, learn, and share as much as possible about this amazing language. His attraction to acoustic instruments, particularly the steel string guitar and piano, led him to develop a warm and spiritual connection with sound and it's creation.
ANTHONY FIUMANO
Anthony Fiumano has been steadily gaining recognition as a solo artist among music fans, industry professionals, and fellow musicians. His strong vocal presence embellishes his dynamic songwriting and clever lyrics. He is truly embarking on what is bound to be a long and illustrious career in music.
KNITEBITCH
KNITEBITCH is God's favorite band. They will turn your mother into your grandmother. Colonel and Horseradish play instruments. Mephistopheles and Rodimus physically and verbally work crowds into frenzies. You have been warned.
DAR STELLABOTTA
Dar's music is a reflection of her life. It comes from the street and most likely will remain in the street - simple tunes for simple people. She feels that if her music only touches one person's life in a positive way, then her job as a musician is done. Dar believes it's all about getting a message across. The message is, instead of living in a world full of hate and war, we can work on living in a world full of peace and love.
