LATE WINTER JIBBERJAM 4

MARCH 1 SATURDAY Days Inn of Lebanon, Pennsylvania

EVENT INFORMATION

This year’s LATE WINTER JIBBERJAM will consume two venues (plus a late night Jam Room) inside the Days Inn of Lebanon, Pennsylvania. Both the hotel ballroom and hotel bar will be utilized as separate musical stages for this unique Jibberjazz event. After hours, we will retire to the Colony Room for reflection, where we will be treated to yet one more musical act, unplugged and acoustic, until the wee hours.  Ten acts will run simultaneously from both rooms throughout the evening. Stage starts will be staggered so everyone can catch all the music. Bounce around between bands. Have a cheap drink at the bar. Follow your musical mood between stages. Order an appetizer or an affordable buffet dinner. Say hello to some folks. Buy some gear from a craft vendor. Stop in your hotel room for a time-out. Return to the music just as the groove gets hot!

All Jibberjazzers unite and escape the frigid frost for LATE WINTER JIBBERJAM! Come out and support Jibberjazz as we unleash our second musical extravaganza of 2014. Let's shake away the icicles, fill up this venue to capacity, and march into 2014 with a night of wild music & dance!

FEATURING 10 MUSICAL ACTS!

JIMKATA
Ithaca, New York

Jimkata's innovative, fan-funded record Die Digital turned heads of critics, musicians and fans when it dropped late in the Fall of 2012, solidifying the band's reputation as a forward-thinking artist to pay attention to. Having been a mainstay of the Northeast jam circuit for years, Jimkata's refined "electro rock" sound – one of a band that has found it’s voice after years of experimentation – is in many ways more "indie rock" than jam, more 90s dance than EDM, more lyrical than instrumental, yet the band manages to keep the jam, EDM and technically advanced instrumental elements intact as it carves out a new path for themselves. Jimkata's relevant, quotable lyrics create moods not just for the fleeting moments, but for the lifestyle of an entire generation.

ULTRAVIOLET HIPPOPOTAMUS
Grand Rapids, Michigan

Ultraviolet Hippopotamus is an explosive five-piece progressive improvisational band. UV Hippo mixes tight, funky jams with new dance beats, heartfelt lyrics, compelling composition, eccentric effects and a vibrant light show for an incredible, one-of-a-kind musical experience. The group deftly journeys between funk, jazz, livetronica, space rock, reggae, bluegrass, and progressive rock within a single show and, sometimes, within a single song. Exploring new ground and taking risks make every performance unique, and fans are never sure what exactly the band will deliver each night; other than exceptional music.

SCOTT PEMBERTON TRIO
Portland, Oregon

Until you have seen Scott Pemberton play the guitar it is hard to describe what he does. His music comes from the heart, is very danceable and quite honestly, no one plays the guitar like him.  He gets regular comparisons to other great musicians such as Jimi Hendrix, Dick Dale, and James Brown, but after a brief listen it is clear that Scott has something all his own. The mastery of his guitar playing combined with the fun recklessness of his songwriting show that the rules of songwriting and playing the guitar no longer exist for him. Scott plays with the uninhibited joy and intensity of someone who recognizes that every time time we make music is an honor and a gift.

UZO

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

UZO is well known for their explosive high-energy live shows leaving audiences floored by their performance and craving more. Combining Funk, Jazz and Heavy Fusion influences, their instrumental mind-bending compositions take you on a musical rollercoaster that leaves you asking your psychiatrist for more Prozac.

HOGMAW
York, Pennsylvania
They ain't your granny's bluegrass. No sir, they're bringing a distinct abstract sound to string band music that can only be best described as THUNDERGRASS! They're a whoopin', hollerin', and foot stompin' good time featuring melodic and edgy originals with strong roots in traditional bluegrass, appalachian, and irish music. What started as an accidental meeting of musicians around a campfire has become a progressive bluegrass bomb that has exploded on the festival scene in the Northeast. By playing original music in an innovative style that is both experimental and familiar, HogMaw has quickly gained a reputation as something that you have to see first hand.

THE UNDERWATER SOUNDS
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

this 4-piece has been described as a sort of reggae-funk-jam fusion, alternating between periods of technical precision and psychedelic improve. The Sounds strive to bring new ideas and unconventional approaches to reggae music; they do this while incorporating a strong female vocal and mindful informed lyrics.

THE CORNLICKERS
Clarksdale, Mississippi

The Cornlickers have played and recorded with many Mississippi Blues musicians including WC Handy Award winner Big Jack Johnson. They are house band at Red's Juke Joint in Clarksdale during major festivals and events. They specialize in Mississippi Hill Country and Delta style blues done juke joint style.

ECHOES TALK BACK
Reading, Pennsylvania

What started off as a solo acoustic project grew into the animal it is today. As each member joined, the band morphed into something bigger and more aggressive, without ever forgetting its roots, losing its core sound or the intimacy it shares with the audience. Nowadays the band is trying to make an impact at each diverse and high energy show. Their true original soundblend keep fans coming back, not knowing what to expect.

THE MIGHTY SUSQUEHANNAS
Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania

Free-Flowing, Unfiltered River Funk. Some call it a waterfall of funk, but they like to think of it as the antacid for the heartburn of your soul.

JANELLE VIBES
Shamokin, Pennsylvania

Never is there a separation between her soul and the musical expression she emits. This is manifested genuinely through her voice as she reaches out to all other souls who listen. Concerning genre, there is nothing typical. You may hear a heart-felt blues, folk, or jazzy style tune - or you may hear some highly energized bluegrass or rock n' roll. No matter what you hear, every trace comes from the heart and soul, a deep appreciation for all music, and the desire to share inspiration.
